Character Appearance: Hermione has bushy brown hair, a bossy sort of voice, and brown eyes. As a youngster, she had rather large front teeth, prompting insults from students such as Pansy Parkinson, who once cHermione
Added by You-Know-Whoompared her to a chipmunk. Hermione had Nurse Poppy Pomfrey magically shrink them in 1994 after she was accidentally struck with a Densaugeo spell, making it unnecessary for her to receive the braces her parents had originally intended for her. Ron noticed her teeth were much straighter and took more notice of her. When angered, "her hair seemed to crackle with electricity" and her voice would become slightly shrill. Hermione never gave much attention to her appearance, except when she used great care in fixing her hair for the Yule Ball using Sleekeazy's Hair Potion, which she later remarked was too much work to use every day. Many of her fellow students were stunned by how pretty Hermione looked that evening during her fourth year. She keeps her hair long, as it was once described as a "long mane of brown hair," and sometimes ties it back in a plait.
She is implied to be relatively plain in her younger years, but becomes much more attractive in her late teens. Hermione received positive attention for her appearance from Ron Weasley, Viktor Krum, and Cormac McLaggen during her time at Hogwarts.
Ron Weasley and Harry Potter both agreed that Hermione had nice skin.
Character History: born 19 September, 1979 as the daughter of Muggles Mr. and Mrs. Granger. She learned, at the age of eleven, that she was a witch and had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She began attending the school on 1 September 1991, when she was eleven, almost twelve, and was sorted into Gryffindor House.
An academically brilliant student, Hermione became best friends with fellow students Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in her first year of school. When they first met on the Hogwarts Express, Ron and Harry thought of her as obnoxious and self-centred, a belief that she only furthered as the school year went on, besting them in every class. However, when Ron and Harry saved her from a troll, she took the blame for them and became their friend. In her second year, Hermione was one of the victims of the basilisk that was unleashed upon Hogwarts with the opening of the Chamber of Secrets, but recovered from being petrified. The next year, Hermione was given permission to use a Time-Turner to facilitate her attending more classes than other students, and which she and Harry later used to save Sirius Black from receiving the Dementor's Kiss, and Buckbeak the Hippogriff from certain death. Hermione became an advocate for the better treatment of house-elves, forming the association S.P.E.W., in her fourth year. In 1995, she was the driving force behind the creation of Dumbledore's Army, and fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in 1996, and in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower and the Battle over Little Whinging in 1997.
RP example (2 paragraphs): Hermione came down the stairs of the girls dormitory into the Gryfinndor common room where she saw Harry, Ron, and Ginny all sitting together laughing. She was jealous. Harry could be so close to Ron without him being bothered and whenever he'd look at her, she had to fight to keep her heart steady, to stay focused. She turned to leave for the door and made it without their notice. How she hated that she couldn't tell Ron exactly how he made her feel.
She headed down toward Hagrid's hut, where she could talk to the person less likely to judge. He was like her own personal diary, except for the fact that she had to be careful- he had a tendency to tell all he knew. She finally arrived at the hut and knocked. The door was swung open and Hagrid smiled. 'Well 'ey der, Hermione!' He said with his smile bearly showing through his bear. 'Hi, Hagrid. May I come in?" 'Well 'o course!' He said gesturing her into the hut. She took a step in and looked down to see Fang wagging his tail excitedly. She reached down and scratched his forehead which seemed to be unwashed but that was ok because she was used to Fang like this. She smiled and sat on a chair in the corner and began to talk to Hagrid who was now looking at her confused. "I thought you could give me advice on relationships." Hagrid stopped dead. "Relationships, 'arlin?" "Well. Ron... I believe he's none to into women at the moment, but I have...feelings for him. Do you think he'd return those feelings?" She said with uncertainty coming into her voice. "'Ron aint' the brightest on feelin's you know that, Hermione. He's prob-ly as unsure as you are." "True... I just- is it selfish to want him?" Hagrid sat in a big arm chair made of dragon skin across from her. " Not ter all." Hermione's mind ran through the outcomes and possibilities of the "what ifs". "Thank you, Hagrid." "No problem, Hermione...So what ter you goin' ter do?"...I'm going to talk to him." she said, a nervous smile crept onto her face. Hermione gave Hagrid a hug goodbye and was soon on her way back to the castle with her mind more at peace. With every step she took, a new confidence began to well up inside. "Yes, i'm going to talk to him."
