One hand on his toad, the other on his Flitterbloom, Neville made his way down the narrow hallway to the nearest and empty compartment. Setting the plant down on the floor as close to the window as possible, Neville kept a firm grip on Trevor as he sat down. "I wonder where the others are," he mumbled to his flitterbloom, focusing his eyes on a vigorous tendril. "I want them to see you." Neville continued to give his rapt attention to the little plant.

The boy pulled his trunk along the train’s corridor, looking for an empty compartment or at least on that had someone he knew in it. One that didn’t have a bunch of fawning girls would also have been welcome. Opening up a compartment door Cedric Diggory looked inside to find a boy and his toad. Cedric gave the boy a friendly grin, “Neville Longbottom isn’t it?” he asked, remembering suddenly that he was one of Harry Potter’s friend. But then if memory served they were in the same year and house so that was only to be expected. Cedric noticed the Flitterbloom and he raised an eyebrow, “what is that?” he asked curiously.

Luna walked through the train searching for a place to stay. She couldn't find her house so she searched for friendly faces. she came across two gentlemen. One she knew as Neville. "Hi Neville" the other she was sure was named Cedric. She smiled "Hi Cedric" and she tilted her head. "Is it okay if I sit here?"

Neville was so absorbed in his plant, he jumped at the sudden voice. Clutching his chest, Neville looked up to see Cedric Diggory. "Oh hi," he found himself stammering at the older student "yes i'm Neville.. take a seat.. if you want." Neville was surprised when Cedric asked about his plant. Not alot of people were into Herbology, not even the least bit curious. Excited, Neville cleared his throat. Neville sat up a little straighter as he tapped the little plant proudly. "This," the mass of soft, springy tendrils and vines of the flitterbloom recoiled at the prod "is a Flitterbloom. It's commonly mistaken for it's twin the Devil's Snare- but it's harmless really." A familiar voice caught his ears. Neville didn't bother to look up from his plant as he answered. "Hi Luna," he said "come see the new plant my Gran got me!" Neville placed the Flitterbloom on the floor of the train to give Luna a place to sit.
